If you have ever purchased a Happy Family you know, all our jewels are accompanied by a Happy Cream , a cream to clean the silver in case it becomes black ( if you are interested in the topic, you can find an in-depth article here) . Not everyone knows, however, that this cream was made by Lollo, an autistic boy.
Lollo's story - how the collaboration between Lollo and our team began
Lorenzo is a 23 year old boy who we have known since he was born. When he finished high school, Lollo's life was an unknown. Thanks to an integration project for young people with disabilities carried out by the Monviso Solidale consortium , Lorenzo managed to join our team.
We don't deny that the first months of work were not easy: new hours and new people meant that it took Lollo a few months to adapt to the work dynamics.
Over time, however, Lollo managed to create his own routine and carve out some space and responsibilities.
Lollo's story - what are his duties in the Happy Family team
To date, in fact, Lollo is responsible for all Happy Creams! He takes care of filling the tray, inserting the sticker on it and sealing everything in the appropriate packaging.
Lollo also takes care of preparing all the boxes necessary for shipments and cleaning the warehouse. Little by little we give him more and more tasks and his motivation grows day by day.
Working with Lollo is always an incredible experience and has taught us a lot about diversity and the importance of giving everyone the chance to express themselves and make their dreams come true.
We hope that this experience can be an inspiration to everyone and help us better understand the challenges that many people face every day.
Conclusions: the importance of supporting the autistic community
We invite you to support the autistic community and appreciate the beauty of diversity in every form possible. Every time you use Happy Cream, therefore, think of Lollo and the great effort he put into packaging it!
